SECOND PROJECT MEETING IN JÜRI, ESTONIA
17 – 22 FEBRUARY 2011
In February 2011 all the partners met in freezing cold and beautifully snowy Estonia which was no doubt an interesting experience for the teachers and students from Turkey and Spain.
During the six days we enjoyed Estonian winter, visited a small town called Paide, went to a big Estonian folk dance festival, admired the Old Town in Tallinn, had many working sessions and were truly astonished by our students’ wonderful performance at the multicultural concert we organized at Jüri Gümnaasium.
The 2-hour concert, which was definitely the highlight of the meeting, turned out to be even better than we had imagined. It was amazing to see the students from such different countries standing shoulder to shoulder dressed in their beautiful national costumes. The students from all the three countries told their peers about their folk music and most important songs. They also danced their folk dances. The best parts of the concert were the moments when the students from one country taught their foreign friends one of their folk dances and the room was full of smiling young people dancing all together.
The days spent together were memorable – although the weather was very cold, we had a good time and were always surrounded by the happy faces of our students. Thank you for coming. It was very nice to have you here and see you soon in Turkey.
